Read this article yesterday as I had to get NY Times account in order to continue reading Thomas Friedman's articles after the N&R dropped those editorials.
I agree with many of Wallis's assertions and would reiterate that the Democratic Party (which at this point I still am a member of) needs to move away from "we're not them" and "our opponents are morons" (though true in some instances) line of thinking. The majority of Americans (like myself) fall somewhere in the middle on most issues and would readily rally behind persons showing true initiative and a willingness to try new ideas. Can it really be that hard to figure this out?
