Elle Turns 3 and Wins 'New Star Discovery' Event!
Elle turned 3 this past weekend! We had a great party at Bounce U in Greensboro. I highly recommend Bounce for children's birthday parties.
We had a great time with Thigpens, Coughlins, and Elle's friends and their family.
On Sunday, Michelle took her Mom, and sisters Anita and Denise along with Elle to the Four Season's Mall to do girl stuff...you know..shop! Well, 'New Star Discovery' had a children's pageant and they entered Elle in the 3-4 year old contest. After jumpin' around and singing......
SHE WON THE EVENT! She won her age group and recieved a nice little trophy for "All-Around" and won another for "Most Beautiful Eyes". The event now qualifies her for an event in Richmond in April of 2007.
Well, I'm pretty proud of my daughter and now she's the most beautiful girl in the world! (AT LEAST IN MY EYES)
Any bloggers know anything about this "New Star Discovery" group? We've been told the winner of the national event gets a $25,000 scholarship. Any insight??

The winner at the Nationals event does get a 25,000 dollar savings bond. However, the savings bond is only given to one child and there are hundreds that enter. Every single child throughout the contest is very adorable and everyone does an excellant job. The contest is more to have fun with and to spend a weekend with your child then to really get a huge savings bond. It is a very fun event, however if you have fun with it.

Save your money and enjoy your child for who they are. New Star will gladly take your money and smile all the way to the bank. You will have to spend several thosands of dollars going through states and Nationals to even be entered for the top prize and they still have the final say in who wins the bond. Your child is the most beautiful in your eyes and that is what matters. We went through the system and by the time we sold add pages, paid all the fees, hotels, and the gas and food we had spent over $4500. Take that money and buy $9000 in savings bonds for your child and be the real WINNER! Pass this on to all your friends.

Quick question: Did you have to sign up in ALL the extra categories in order to qualify for the gift card and $750.00 grand prize? The entry application seems unclear on that. Hope to hear from you today here in the blog as the contest in our area is tomorrow! Thanks!

My daughter Reema (2) will be at the state finals in Richmond, as well. I am not familiar with how these finals are organized. I, as a mother, feel like this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for Elle, not just to experience being up on stage as the center of attention, but to make friends along the way. She would love it. There will be hundreds of kids there,I'm sure. So it will be an experience like no other for your daughter. I wish your beautiful Elle the best of luck, and happy belated birthday.

We love NSD and have competed for over 3 years now with 3 kids. Love the other families and NS employees. My advice, only enter part of competition and leave the ad pages for 1st yr, until you've been to one and decide for yourself. I bought clothes from Walmart, Von Maur, ect... and my girl won a $2500.00 and $250.00 bond at state, didn't wear a paegant dress either. If you can hold fund raisers for expenses and ad pages, thats what we do. It doesn't have to get expensive, although, you then have to put yourself out there, but we are going to continue until our kids are too old or are not interested. It's like like paying for weekly gymnastics or sports. It's fun to cheer others on as well. Everyone's kid does the best they can and at state the trophies are really spread around. Nationals are not as laid back, my children have not won anything at nationals, but that does not stop me from trying another time. You can win a $250 bond by winning the age division and only entering this alone...you can enter all feature or special categories alone (w/ main age competition) and if you have top points combined from those categories you can win big prizes, bonds, etc....only 5k or 2,500 or 1k bonds you need to enter all categories and sell 3 ad pages to quality for just the high point awards. Call NS, they are great about?'s. Good Luck and have fun!!!!!

I totally agree with madmom comment. My son went to Nationals in 2007 won 1 of the top three in ad sells and was suppose to receive a savings bond and to this day we have yet to receive anything. Last week I received a letter stating that the company had filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy and it was inviting all those that money is owed to to attend hearing in Chicago. I live in Virginia and I am not paying no more money with no guarantee we will get my son's bond. It was a great experience then but if I would have known then what I know now we would not have competed. We spent well into the thousands in state and national finals in hotel stays, airfare, food, outfits, entry fees, and props, for my son to have won and the only prize we got to take home was his six foot trophy and the smaller ones. DO NOT DO IT IF THE COMPANY GETS BACK ON THERE FEET!!!!! It's a rip off. Someone told me that you should not have to pay to have your child seen.
