Sportsman and Hunters now have an alternative to the National Rifle Association. The Hunters and Shooter's Association, while a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment, believes in an assault weapons ban and common sense gun regulations like mandatory back ground checks at gun shows, and hunter education and conservation.

Where do I get more information up? Right here!

  • A truly impressive display of stupidity. I can only assume that you do not have an elected office.

If you would like more info on the AHSA, check out American Hunters and Shooters Association at Gun Law News.

  • I'm glad you are impressed...

Here's the other side of that coin:

The gun lobby's allegiance to Republicans shows in its political giving. In 2006, the NRA's PAC gave 85 percent of its campaign contributions to Republican candidates while Gun Owners of America gave 100 percent to Republicans. (ONLY OVER $2 Million)

In addition, Republican activists Grover Norquist, David Keene and Ollie North serve on the NRA's board of directors in addition to current and former Republican Members of Congress.

Rep. Barbara Cubin (R); Sen. Larry Craig (R); and Rep. Donald Young (R) are all current NRA Board Members.

It is great to know that Republicans and Democrats can be members of organizations that support the Second Amendment, albeit with different nuances.

I wouldn't call that stupid, that's our right as citizens.

    I'll let the public decide.
