We Win and Many Thanks to ALL!

Our campaign was a winner! I appreciate all the work from SO MANY people who came in and helped us get over the top---my wife Michelle, Elle (she came out of the bullpen at 5 pm and was my closer!) Jeff Kerrigan, campaign manager and I'll have a longer list later because I'm wiped out!

We won some and lost some on all levels. I wish the winners the best as we seek to move our communities and nation forward....

  • Congrats, Jeff, I thought you ran an interesting and positive (and obviously successful) race.

Will you keep blogging at RoD?

    If so, why?

And was there any measurable payoff from a blog in this campaign?

  • Thanks for the congrats.

From a Campaign Manager’s perspective, I found some very real benefits to using the blog.

    1. Foremost, blogging is essentially free. Paying a webmaster to update a static website every time your candidate wants to say something is not. Even if you have a volunteer webmaster, there is a delay in getting the message out that the blog overcame.

    2. Thanks to you and others, our campaign was highlighted as being technologically progressive for blogging. In a race where advances in technology are central, this was helpful.

    3. Part of Jeff’s appeal and message in the campaign is that he is accessible, friendly and responsive. I think the very nature of the blog accentuated this.

I’m not sure how measurable these are. We also can’t be clear about how many people saw or read the blog, but it turned out to be part of a winning combination.

  • Absolutely wonderful campaign, Jeff. I know you'll do a great job as Register of Deeds, for a while, that is. I fully intend to say one day, "Yes, Senator Thigpen is a friend of mine!"

  • Congrats, Jeff! I'm glad that after five years I finally got a chance to vote for you.

  • Thanks for the comments. To Ed, yes I'll be bloggin in office! I'll have to get into a regular routine. The next several weeks will be very busy with the appointment of a new commmissioner for District 6.

I appreciate your support and encouragement along the way. I'll have some new posts in the next few days.

    Take care, Jeff

  • Jeff you will always be Skip's little puppet.I hope your not proud of the election win due to the way you won it.I would hate to think being under Skip Alston's thumb is the only way I could win.Your win is pitiful when you consider how you accomplished it.

  • I can't believe how small and sour-minded the above message is. Can anyone say "sore loser"? Let me tell you what is STUPID... being Jonathan Wagstaff and spending $3600 on dumb puppet ads of Jeff with Skip Alston. The Republicans need to stand for something other than trying to make Alston the "boogey-man" all the time. I heard Wade and Cotten did the same thing and they're going to lose. Jeff is his own guy and we need to lift the political discourse to a higher level.
